100% Pinot Noir sourced from Macari & Peconic Bay Vineyards. This wine has dark fruit, deep structure, soft tannins, & a long dry finish. The name represents the winemaker’s relationship with Pinot Noir. This was the first wine made under the Anthony Nappa Wines brand in 2007 and has not been repeated until 2014, showing our commitment to quality of fruit therefore being aptly named. The grapes were fermented and aged separately in French oak (12% new) for 18 months. This wine will age for years to come. 204 cases produced.
2014 Nemesis – 89 pts Wine Enthusiast Pinot Noir is something winemaker Anthony Nappa makes only in rare vintages. This intensely earthy expression offers slightly muted tones of red currant and cranberry accented by dusty minerals, cedar and dried oregano. It's a sharp slightly peppery wine with firm persistent tannins on the finish.
2014 Nemesis – 89 pts Wine Advocate This is only the second vintage of this wine (the first was 2007). Showing good Pinot character, Its best feature is the seductive, velvety texture. Laced with some black cherry nuances, it also has controlled (indeed, somewhat subdued) flavors and a brighter feel underneath the velvet. Overall, this is very pretty, a perfect food wine, It is lovely and you might like it even better than the score suggests.
